The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for a return to values-driven politics and moral leadership as Nigeria grapples with economic and governance challenges.
In a Christmas message released on Tuesday, the opposition party urged leaders at all levels to embrace integrity, accountability and selfless service, describing the festive season as a moment for national reflection and renewal.
The PDP said Nigeria’s progress depends on leadership anchored on democratic values and a genuine commitment to the welfare of citizens. It stressed that politics should be guided by service to the people rather than personal or sectional interests.
The party also called on Nigerians to remain united and hopeful, noting that peace, justice and inclusive governance are essential for national stability and development.
The statement comes amid heightened political conversations ahead of the 2027 general elections, as parties position themselves and respond to public concerns over the economy, security and governance.
