The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has graduated 23 Airmen and Airwomen from the Cabin Crew Initial Course 2/2026 at the Air Traffic Services Training Centre (ATSTC), Kaduna.
The graduation marks another step in the Service’s efforts to strengthen aviation safety, professional competence and operational effectiveness through specialised training.
Representing the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, at the ceremony, the Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command, Air Vice Marshal Essen Paul Effanga, described rigorous training and strict adherence to professional standards as essential to aviation safety.
Effanga charged the graduates to uphold discipline, integrity and professionalism in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He noted that cabin crew duties extend beyond passenger services, stressing that personnel are also responsible for the safety, security and survival of aircraft occupants during both routine flights and emergency situations.
The Air Officer Commanding urged the newly trained personnel to deploy the knowledge and skills acquired during the course responsibly, noting that their competence would play an important role in supporting safe and effective air operations.
The Commandant of ATSTC, Air Vice Marshal NB Folaji, reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to maintaining its reputation as a centre of excellence in aviation training.
According to Folaji, ATSTC would continue to develop competent, disciplined and mission-ready personnel capable of performing effectively in demanding aviation environments.
During the training, the 23 graduates received instruction in key areas including cabin safety, emergency management, first aid, aviation security and survival techniques.
The skills acquired are expected to improve the NAF’s operational capacity, particularly in the safe transportation of personnel and the effective execution of aviation duties in challenging environments.
The newly trained personnel are also expected to contribute to broader military operations, including counter-terrorism, counter-insurgency and internal security missions, where the protection of lives, operational continuity and effective utilisation of air power remain critical to mission success.
