The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting ethics and professionalism in the financial services sector following a courtesy visit by the ICPC Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria (ACAN) at the Bankers House in Abuja.
The visiting delegation was received by the Registrar/Chief Executive of CIBN, Akin Morakinyo, and was led by the Provost of the Academy, Professor Sheriff Ghali Ibrahim. Other members of the delegation included the Director of the Academy, Garba Tukur Idris; Deputy Director, Administration, Obaniyi Clement; as well as other senior officials of the institution.
The visit provided an opportunity for both organisations to deepen collaboration and explore areas of mutual interest, particularly in advancing ethical standards, strengthening professionalism, and enhancing capacity development within Nigeria’s banking and financial services industry.
Discussions during the engagement also underscored the importance of institutional partnerships in fostering integrity and accountability across sectors, with both parties expressing readiness to work together on initiatives that would support sustainable growth and public trust in the financial system.
