Liverpool have reached an agreement in principle with Paris Saint-Germain over the signing of French winger Bradley Barcola in a blockbuster deal worth up to £120 million.
The breakthrough ends weeks of negotiations between the two clubs, with PSG having initially demanded around £145 million for the 23-year-old France international. Liverpool have now agreed a package featuring a guaranteed fee of just over £100 million, with performance-related add-ons potentially taking the total value to £120 million.
However, the transfer is not officially completed yet, as the final details of the agreement still need to be settled before Barcola can complete his move to Anfield.
Barcola Set for Anfield Move
Barcola has reportedly been Liverpool’s leading attacking target throughout the summer, with the club keen to strengthen its wide options following the departure of Mohamed Salah.
The Frenchman has also been pushing for a move, having found his opportunities at PSG increasingly limited following the arrival of other attacking players. Reports indicate that Barcola has already agreed personal terms with Liverpool, putting the Reds in a strong position to complete the transfer.
Barcola joined PSG from Lyon in 2023 and has established himself as one of France’s most exciting young attackers. Since moving to Paris, he has made 152 appearances, scoring 39 goals and providing 37 assists, according to Reuters.
Liverpool’s Second-Most Expensive Signing
If the transfer is completed for the full £120 million package, Barcola would become Liverpool’s second-most expensive signing, behind only Alexander Isak, who joined the Reds for £125 million last summer.
The proposed deal would also underline Liverpool’s determination to remain competitive at the highest level after a major summer of squad rebuilding.
Barcola’s arrival would give manager Andoni Iraola another explosive attacking option, with the winger capable of operating from the left and contributing both goals and assists.
More Signings Could Follow
Liverpool are not expected to stop with Barcola.
The club are still exploring options for another winger, having already seen bids for Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh rejected. Crystal Palace’s Ismaïla Sarr has also been linked with the Reds as they look to improve their attacking depth.
There is also uncertainty surrounding Cody Gakpo’s future, with Tottenham and Manchester City reportedly monitoring the Dutch forward.
For now, though, Liverpool fans have every reason to be excited.
The Reds have won the battle to take one of Europe’s most highly rated young wingers from Paris to Merseyside — and if the final paperwork goes through, Bradley Barcola could soon be wearing the famous Liverpool shirt.
