UCL: Como Hit Lens for Nine as Madrid, Arsenal, City and Dortmund Win — Liverpool Fall

Liverpool suffer a 3–2 Champions League defeat to Fenerbahçe

The UEFA Champions League delivered a dramatic night of football on Wednesday, November 4, with Como making history, Real Madrid and Manchester City winning late, and Liverpool suffering a painful defeat in Istanbul.

Como produced the biggest result of the night, thrashing Lens 9–1 away from home to equal the competition’s largest-ever winning margin. Real Madrid came from behind twice to beat AEK Athens 3–2, while Manchester City also secured a late 3–2 victory over RB Leipzig.

Liverpool, however, let their lead slip twice before losing 3–2 to Fenerbahçe.

Como Make Champions League History

Como stole the headlines with a stunning 9–1 victory over Lens in France.

Anastasios Douvikas scored a hat-trick as Cesc Fàbregas’ side overwhelmed their hosts. Nico Paz, Lucas Da Cunha, Marc-Oliver Kempf, Mattia Liberali, Martin Baturina and Matteo Papaccioli also found the net.

The result equalled the biggest winning margin in Champions League history and strengthened Como’s impressive debut campaign.

Lens managed a consolation goal through Ruben Aguilar, but the French side had no answer to Como’s attacking display.

Real Madrid Complete Dramatic Comeback

Real Madrid maintained their perfect Champions League record with a dramatic 3–2 win away to AEK Athens.

AEK took the lead through Aboubakary Koita before Jude Bellingham equalised for Madrid.

Stavros Pilios restored the hosts’ advantage, but Kylian Mbappé brought Madrid level again.

Federico Valverde then scored a stunning stoppage-time winner to complete the comeback and preserve Madrid’s unbeaten run in the league phase.

Liverpool Stunned by Fenerbahçe

Liverpool suffered their first Champions League league-phase defeat after losing 3–2 to Fenerbahçe in Istanbul.

Trey Nyoni gave Liverpool the lead, but Mason Greenwood quickly equalised for the Turkish side.

Alexander Isak put Liverpool ahead again in the second half. Fenerbahçe responded through Archie Brown before Vedat Muriqi headed home the winner in the 79th minute.

The result marked a major setback for Liverpool and a memorable night for Fenerbahçe.

Man City Survive Leipzig Challenge

Manchester City secured a 3–2 away win over RB Leipzig in another five-goal thriller.

City and Leipzig traded goals before Erling Haaland struck late to give Pep Guardiola’s side all three points.

The victory continued City’s strong Champions League campaign, while Leipzig were left frustrated after pushing the visitors throughout the contest.

Arsenal Win, Porto Thrash Napoli

Arsenal claimed a 2–1 away victory over Slavia Prague.

The Gunners secured the win but faced a late scare as Slavia pushed for an equaliser. Arsenal nevertheless held on to collect three important points.

Porto delivered another impressive performance, beating Napoli 4–1 at home.

The Portuguese side dominated the contest and secured their first points of the league phase, while Napoli endured a difficult night.

Other Champions League Results

  • Borussia Dortmund 2–1 Real Betis: Dortmund claimed a narrow home win.
  • PSV Eindhoven 1–2 Club Brugge: Brugge secured an important away victory.
  • Viking 4–1 Sabah: Viking delivered a convincing win in Norway.

What the Results Mean

Como’s historic victory was the standout result of Matchday 4, but the night also highlighted how unpredictable the Champions League can be.

Real Madrid and Manchester City showed their ability to win under pressure. Arsenal collected another important victory, while Liverpool’s defeat exposed the danger of allowing opponents back into a match.

With the league phase continuing, every point matters as clubs fight for qualification and a stronger position in the standings.

The biggest talking point remains Como’s 9–1 demolition of Lens — a result that has instantly become one of the most remarkable nights in Champions League history.
