President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Saturday, 29th November 2025, commissioned One Thousand One Hundred and Eighty-Seven (1,187) cadets of Regular Course 7 into the Nigeria Police Force as Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs).
The colourful Passing Out Parade (POP), held at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, marked the end of five years of intensive academic and professional training. The cadets, now commissioned officers, also earned Bachelor’s degrees in various disciplines, equipping them with both academic competency and operational policing skills required to serve the nation effectively.
Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, President Tinubu congratulated the newly commissioned officers and charged them to uphold integrity, professionalism, and respect for human rights in the discharge of their duties.
He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to comprehensive police reform, improved personnel welfare, and strengthened security architecture across the country.
The high-profile ceremony drew distinguished guests including: Shanta Emily Knowles, Head of the Royal Bahamas Police Force; Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf; representatives of the Chief of Defence Staff and Service Chiefs; members of the National Assembly; senior government officials; heads of security agencies; serving and retired police officers; the academic leadership of the Nigeria Police Academy; traditional and religious leaders; as well as proud parents and well-wishers.
In his remarks, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, congratulated the 1,187 new ASPs and praised their resilience, discipline, and commitment throughout their training.
He emphasized that effective policing is anchored on character, discipline, and professionalism, and urged the graduates to remain dedicated to protecting lives and property, maintaining public order, and restoring public trust in the Nigeria Police Force.
