The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has redeployed 13 senior officers to various commands and departments across the country as part of measures to strengthen operations, improve institutional performance and enhance road safety service delivery.
The redeployment was approved by the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, and affects officers serving in both management and operational capacities.
According to the FRSC, the exercise is intended to bring fresh perspectives into key assignments, maximise the professional expertise of its personnel and position experienced officers where their skills can deliver greater value to the organisation.
Five Assistant Corps Marshals Affected
Among the officers redeployed are five Assistant Corps Marshals (ACMs).
ACM GO Omiko, PhD, previously in charge of Special Duties and External Relations (SDER), has been moved to head the Operations Department.
ACM EF Akinlade, MInstTA, formerly ACM Research, has been appointed ACM Command Administration and Strategy in Operations at the FRSC National Headquarters in Abuja.
Similarly, ACM JO Asaolu, PSC, MInstTA, formerly of the Policy Advisory Unit, will now serve as ACM Research.
ACM MB Ibrahim, who previously headed Special Marshals, has been redeployed as ACM Special Duties and External Relations.
ACM FA Ogidan, formerly ACM Command Administration and Strategy in Operations at the Road Safety Headquarters, has been appointed Zonal Commanding Officer, RS10HQ, Sokoto.
FRSC Seeks Stronger Performance
The Corps Marshal described the redeployment as part of the normal operational processes of a dynamic institution seeking continuous improvement.
He said strategic deployment of personnel was necessary to ensure that the FRSC remained responsive, agile and performance-driven amid changing road safety and traffic management challenges.
Mohammed stressed the importance of continuously optimising the Corps’ human resources to reflect emerging realities in road transportation, enforcement and safety administration.
He added that the latest postings reinforced the FRSC’s commitment to professionalism, accountability, operational discipline and effective leadership.
The affected officers have been directed to report to their new commands immediately and ensure proper documentation during the handing-over and taking-over process.
Officers Charged to Deliver Results
Mohammed urged the redeployed officers to regard their new assignments as opportunities to make a greater contribution to the Corps’ mandate of reducing road traffic crashes and improving safety for all road users.
He tasked them with demonstrating integrity, professionalism, innovation and dedication in their respective commands, stressing that every posting carries greater responsibility and an opportunity to deliver measurable results.
The FRSC leadership, he said, would continue working towards building a stronger and more responsive institution capable of advancing Nigeria’s road safety objectives.
