Precious Today, the legendary hip-hop artist Dr. Dre received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The well-known Compton-born rapper and producer received recognition during an event on Hollywood Boulevard. Other rap legend Snoop Dogg, music producer Jimmy Iovine, and radio personality Big Boy were present.
In the recording category, Dr. Dre’s star—the 2,775th on the Walk of Fame—was dedicated. He thanked his devoted followers throughout his address, stating, “I’m incredibly grateful for your support throughout the years.” The majority of us grew up together. You’re still having a great time with me at almost 60, and I truly appreciate it.
Thanks to his successful solo career and co-founding of the iconic rap group N.W.A., Dr. Dre has been a major player in the hip-hop business. Superstars like Eminem, 50 Cent, and Kendrick Lamar are just a few of the people he has taught and worked with.
“Pouring my whole soul and self into my passion for hip-hop led me on a pathway to an incredible career, and I’ve been fortunate enough to make a living doing exactly what I love to do,” Dr. Dre said in reflection on his journey.
The Los Angeles City Council proclaimed March 19 as Dre Day in the city in addition to awarding him a star. “Dre Day! Dre Day!” was yelled by the audience as Dr. Dre was given a framed plaque to mark the event.
The festivities come after Dr. Dre had a health scare in 2021, when he disclosed he had had three strokes and had suffered a brain aneurysm.
Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, and Snoop Dogg are expected to appear on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” following the ceremony. The programme will premiere later tonight at 11 p.m. PST, right after Eyewitness News.
