Fresh drama has erupted around former Big Brother Naija winner Ilebaye Odiniya after her father publicly shared his side of their ongoing family dispute, revealing shocking details about their strained relationship.
In an emotional account now making rounds online, Ilebaye’s father claimed he was one of her strongest supporters from the very beginning of her reality TV journey. According to him, he stood firmly behind her during her auditions and also supported her financially and emotionally throughout her second appearance in the BBNaija house, especially during eviction periods.
However, he alleged that things changed drastically after she emerged winner of the BBNaija All Stars edition.
“She Became Distant After Winning”
According to him, Ilebaye gradually stopped communicating with him after her victory and repeatedly ignored his efforts to reconnect with her.
He said he made several attempts to reach out, hoping they could jointly appreciate the people who supported her rise to fame, but claimed she refused to cooperate.
The father also disclosed that he advised the reality TV star to use part of her prize money to support less privileged people, but alleged that she ignored the suggestion.
Hotel Ownership, Lifestyle Concerns
Addressing social media claims surrounding a luxury hotel allegedly linked to Ilebaye, her father stated that the property actually belongs to him and expressed concern over what he described as her “self-destructive lifestyle.”
He also criticised the reality star over alleged cosmetic procedures, including facial fillers and a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), saying he was disappointed she made such decisions at a young age.
Allegations of Family Conflict
In the now-viral revelations, Ilebaye’s father alleged that there had been longstanding tensions within the family, including repeated disagreements between Ilebaye and her mother.
He claimed he often tried to mediate family disputes, but alleged that Ilebaye never truly respected him as a father figure.
More controversially, he accused the reality star of physically confronting him on two occasions, claiming he remained silent because of his love for her.
Viral Video and Police Involvement
Reacting to a viral video allegedly showing him striking Ilebaye, he admitted hitting her during a heated confrontation, claiming he acted out of provocation after she allegedly disrespected him.
He further revealed that the matter led to police involvement and that he was briefly arrested, although he said the issue had initially been settled before another invitation was reportedly extended to him by authorities.
Financial Struggles and Emotional Appeal
The father also alleged that despite his health challenges, including high blood pressure and medical treatment abroad, Ilebaye declined to assist him financially when he reached out for help.
According to him, he was later hurt after seeing videos online showing the reality star spraying large amounts of money at a celebrity wedding event.
Despite the controversy, he appealed to Nigerians to forgive both himself and his daughter, expressing hope that the family would eventually resolve their issues privately and peacefully.
The emotional revelations have since sparked massive reactions across social media, with fans divided over the family’s public fallout and the pressures that often come with fame and celebrity life.
